"God's Love" by Samantha Perez

$10.00

Samantha Perez, the artist, has enjoyed working with this Mail Art due to the fact that she has never done this before. She says the development of her art really started in the 6th grade at SASA (Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy) where she first learned about the components of art. In her first mail art piece it contains hands holding a cross along with rose vines. The hands and cross are inspired by the "Youth in the Hands of God" sculpture made by Marshall Fredericks. Such as devoting yourself to God and just having this great belief and trust. The rose vine represents strength, love, and beauty. This is because vines in particular are really hard to damage especially damp vines. The rose again is just so beautiful and light in color and very vibrant. The rose in this case also applies to how great the peoples' love is to God. So, she felt that if she were to combine these, they would make a greater meaning. In the background Samantha wanted to add a color that would make emphasis on the hands, cross, and rose. She felt a light blue mix with a bit of darker blue would help make this work.
